The Redemptorist community in Karen, Nairobi, Kenya gathered on Thursday February 25th to welcome Fr. Noel Sottima C.Ss.R. as Coordinator of the Redemptorist Conference for Africa and Madagascar. Fr. Noel, was installed at a liturgy at Tree Lane, in Karen, Nairobi.
The liturgy was led by Fr. Nicolas Ayouba, who is the General Consultor from Africa at the General Government of the Redemptorists. Fr. Noel is originally from Benin, and is a member of the West Africa Vice-Province of the Redemptorists. Fr. Noel has worked in Burkina Faso and Niger. Noel is a gifted linguist, and will reside in Nairobi. There was a shadow of sadness through the liturgy, as the previous coordinator Fr. Zephirin who died in recent months, was remembered, with tenderness and gratitude.
All the members of COREAM wish Fr. Noel every blessing as he takes up this new missionary challenge. That God may bless his wellbeing, and that he may flourish in his new leadership role, we all pray.
