In Burkina Faso, there are nine Redemptorist communities spread across five different cities, namely:

Introduction to the Redemptorists in Burkina Faso
Burkina Faso is part of the Vice Province of West Africa and has been a cornerstone of the Redemptorist mission in the region for decades. Rooted in the charism of proclaiming the Gospel to the most abandoned, the Redemptorists combine evangelisation, formation, and social outreach, serving both urban and remote communities.
One of the key communities is the St. Alphonsus Community in Fada N’Gourma, established in 1983. Historically significant, the Redemptorists were among the pioneers of evangelisation in the Diocese of Fada N’Gourma. Today, the community hosts the Pre-Postulancy Program, welcoming young men discerning a Redemptorist vocation. Alongside formation, the community supports the local population through initiatives such as Notre Dame de la Paix School and a center for persons living with disabilities, opened recently in 2025.
Another important presence is the Blessed Gennaro Sarnelli Community in Kantchari, located in eastern Burkina Faso. Responsible for parish ministry and outreach to surrounding villages, the community faces significant security challenges. While many villages have become inaccessible due to insecurity, the missionaries continue their work within Kantchari, remaining a living, prayerful, and resilient community.
Through pastoral ministry, vocational formation, education, and social initiatives, the Redemptorists in Burkina Faso continue to bring hope, faith, and solidarity to the people they serve.
