COREAM

Kenya

There are five Redemptorist communities in Kenya, namely:

  • Karen in Nairobi (formation and administrative house),
  • Iruma in the Diocese of Meru (parish and formation house),
  • Kinungi in the Diocese of Nakuru,
  • Tenges in the Diocese of Nakuru,
  • Myanga in the Diocese of Bungoma.

The parish of Iruma includes eleven sub-stations, the furthest located 21 km away. Through a water project, we have supported the local community by providing clean water to approximately 850 families, twelve schools, several dispensaries, and one government hospital. In addition, the Redemptorists run St. Alphonsus Academy in the parish.

Kinungi Parish has nine sub-stations, with a tenth currently being established. The parish is under the leadership of Fr. Cornel Omondi as Parish Priest, assisted by Fr. Pius Juma. Tenges Parish, which has fourteen outstations, and is the most recent mission we undertook in January 2026. It is led by Fr. Nicholas Kibaara as Parish Priest, assisted by Deacon Patrick Otieno. Myanga Parish has seven sub-stations. The Redemptorists initiated the mission in Myanga on 1st of January 2026, with Fr. Joseph Nyongesa serving as Parish Priest, assisted by Fr. Isaac Wanyoike.

In addition to parish ministry, we are actively involved in conducting retreats for religious, priests, and young people in various parishes.
