There are three Redemptorist communities in Ghana, spread across two different cities, namely:
- Communauté Scala, Sokodé Etoé, Ho
- St. Clement Mary Hofbauer Redemptorist Community, Mawuli Estate, Ho
- Stanggassinger House, Kubease
The Ghana Mission of the Redemptorists, which began in 1994, is part of the Vice Province of West Africa and is centered in Ho, the capital of the Volta Region. Today, the mission is carried out through two communities that combine pastoral ministry, formation, and missionary outreach.
The Scala Community in Sokodé Etoé, within the Diocese of Ho, served for many years as a formation house for the pre-postulancy. Following the transfer of the pre-postulancy program to Burkina Faso in 2024, the community now focuses on prayer, hospitality, and the development of self-sustainability projects. It also serves as the coordination center for the pastoral activities of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
The St. Clement Mary Hofbauer Community is based at Christ the King Parish, Mawuli Estate, Ho. Since the Redemptorists assumed responsibility for the parish in 2003, the community has played an important role in the spiritual growth of the local Church through parish ministry, the celebration of the sacraments, catechesis, and the accompaniment of the faithful. Despite its modest size, the parish maintains a vibrant schedule of pastoral and community activities throughout the week.
The mission also includes the Stanggassinger House in Kubease, home to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Novitiate Community, where Redemptorist novices from across West Africa receive their formation and prepare for their first profession.
