The Ghana Mission of the Redemptorists, which began in 1994, currently has the Scala Community located in Sokodé Etoé near the city of Ho in Ghana, within the Diocese of Ho. Ghana is part of the Vice Province of West Africa of the Redemptorists.

For many years, Scala served as a formation house for the pre-postulancy, welcoming several generations of students in their first stage of Redemptorist formation. In October 2024, this stage of formation was transferred to the St. Alphonsus Community in Fada N’gourma, Burkina Faso.

Today, the life of the confreres in Scala is centered on prayer, Eucharistic celebrations with the local faithful, and the care of the large mission property, which extends over several hectares.

For the pastoral year 2025–2026, the community includes Fr. Yao Jean-Luc ADJÉI (Côte d’Ivoire) as Community Superior, Fr. Dieudonné DJAMTA (Togo) as Econom, as well as two students undertaking a language internship: Fr. Romuald HOUNKPÉTIN (Benin), a young professed Redemptorist, and Arsène ABESSOLO ABESSOLO (Cameroon), a postulant pursuing a Master’s degree in Philosophy.

In the coming years, the community plans to develop self-sustainability projects to make better use of the land. Scala has also been designated as the coordination center for the pastoral activities of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
