(Zimbabwe, South Africa) We were blessed to have Fr. Mark Miller, C.Ss.R. the provincial Superior of Redemptorists in Canada in the Redemptorist Region of Zimbabwe. He gave us a wonderful retreat from 30th July to 3rd August 2018. The retreat came at a very difficult time as we were having the country’s general elections on the opening day of the retreat! However, despite this challenge, Fr Miller provided us with a wonderful atmosphere of prayer and introspection. In fact, the retreat became a form of healing for the confreres in Zimbabwe amid a complex political situation.
On the first two days Fr Miller led us through the Holy Trinity and in the remaining days he touched on the spirituality of St. Alphonsus especially prayer, discipleship, and the religious vows. He seized the opportunity during the daily masses to draw lessons on various aspects of our community life. The retreat concluded with the feast day celebration of St. Alphonsus in the afternoon of 3rd August 2018.
Fr Miller will conclude the week giving a seminar in Moral Theology at a theologate co-founded by the Redemptorists from 8th to 10th of August. A big number of participants, at least one hundred expected to gather at this anticipated event.
