Cape Town takes its name from the nearby Cape of Good Hope. The confreres in Cape Town are anxious to share the spirit of the recent General Chapter, especially in terms of our Christian and Redemptorist hope.
We have devised a “Lenten Novena” for the six Thursdays of Lent on the theme of Missionaries of Hope in the footsteps of the Redeemer. The Lenten Novena services will include special services on “Missionaries of Hope”, “Hope in the Church”, “Hope in prayer”, “Hope in family life”, Mary our Hope”, and Hope in the Redeemer”.
Praying and reflecting on hope seems to become more and more urgent every day. The recent earthquakes, wars in so many parts of the world, increased violence in our societies, all cry out for meaning and for a better world for all. Jesus lived and died in hope. We are all called to do the same.
