Spirituality course for the theologians of the Vice-Province of West Africa

(Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso) From Monday 19th to Friday 23th August 2019, Altogether 18 brothers of the Redemptorist Vice-Province of West Africa are participating a course on the Redemptorist Spirituality. This course is taking place in the vice provincial formation house, Saint Gerard, located in Ouagadougou, the capital city of Burkina Faso. Father Piotr Chyla, the director of the Redemptorist Spirituality Centre based in Rome, conducted the sessions.

Within these 5 days, the theologians had the opportunity to reconnect with our Redemptorist Spirituality, taking into account the tradition of our founder and of all the saints and blessed of the Congregation, the decisions of the last General Chapters, the various letters from the General Government and many more. The mains topics on which is based the course among others are “Spiritual experience in the Bible”, “Brief historical outline of Christian spirituality”, “Elements of Alphonsian Spirituality”. It was a great opportunity for the students to renew their love for the Redeemer and their passion for the mission of the Congregation shown by our founder St. Alphonsus.

Of course, there are also rooms to acquire profound knowledge on topics such as our identity as Redemptorists, mission, charism, spirituality. In a very fraternal and relaxing atmosphere, the students are very happy and grateful to receive such a course from a very talented confrere in the matter as father Piotr. The students unanimously look forward to such interesting courses in future again and again!
