Silver Jubilee celebration at the Monastery of Kiri in the Vice Province of West Africa

(Burkina Faso, West Africa) The Redemptorist family joyfully sang the wonders of the Redeemer on the occasion of the silver jubilee celebration of the Prioress Marie Anaïs Wendpuire KIEMA on Thursday 21st of November at Kiri. Indeed, our Redemptorist nuns of Kiri in the Archdiocese of Bobo Dioulasso in Burkina Faso celebrated their autonomy. In the same mass, we praised the Lord with the Prioress Marie Anaïs Wendpuire KIEMA of Blessed Sacrament for her silver jubilee of religious life. This thanksgiving mass was presided over by the Archbishop of the same diocese Paul OUEDRAOGO, in the presence of two others bishops, Pierre Claver MALGO and Théophile NARE, and the Prioress of  Diabo’s monastery, Sister Marie Véronique OUBDA and many other priests, religious and laypeople.

The Archbishop of Bobo Dioulasso had declared ‘sui iuris’ of the monastery of Kiri after the permission of Rome like the Canon law cites (canon 609 § 2) on 8th of June 2019. Ora et Labora. True to their commitment the Redemptoristines continue to pray and to work in fidelity. The nuns will continue to glorify God inside their cloister.

For Sister Marie Anaïs Wendpuire KIEMA of Blessed Sacrament, the joy of this jubilee has brought hopes by the assistance of Holy Spirit, in her consecration. That is why during the mass, she renewed her vows to continue to commit herself to live fully with Christ. At the same time, we too prayed for her to obtain the wisdom to guide the Kiri monastery with courage and fidelity according to the inspiration of Blessed Marie Celeste CROSTAROSA and the will of the Redeemer.

This jubilee celebration helped us to rediscover the meaning of monastic life. We prayed also for Redemptorist family, especially for the Redemptoristines that God may bless them with more vocations to the monastic way of life.

May God Bless them and give them the graces to be in Kiri and in the world as the living memory of the Redeemer.

Jesus, the Most Holy Redeemer, be with us! Amen.
