Emergency Response to Flooding in Huruma, Zimbabwe.

The Redemptorist Solidarity Office is working with the Diocese of Chinhoyi, Zimbabwe in responding to floods, in Huruma, Rashinga, Zimbabwe. The diocese is led by Redemptorist Bishop Raymond Mupandasekwa C.S.s.R.

A recent storm has damaged 42 family homes, impacting 230 people. The storm also destroyed the roof of Huruma primary School, with 263 students and 40 early Childhood Development students. The Redemptorist Solidarity Office is working to repair the school and family homes and to provide emergency supplies to impacted families. The poorest are the most adversely effected by Climate Change.
