West Africa: Redemptorist Youth and Vocations Pastoral Camp (RYVM) in Burkina Faso

From August 22 to 24, 2025, the Redemptorist Youth and Vocations Pastoral Camp (RYVM) in Kossoghin, Burkina Faso spent three days of listening, discernment, prayer, and sharing around the theme: “Young Redemptorists, be witnesses to hope following the example of Saint Alphonsus.”

This camp was an opportunity for participants to get to know each other better, to fraternize, and to learn more about Saint Alphonsus, a figure who sowed hope in the footsteps of the Redeemer. In addition, the young people learned about the Statutes and Internal Regulations of the Redemptorist Youth and Vocations Pastoral Camp, which were unanimously adopted. It was on the basis of these texts that they expressed their membership during the Sunday Eucharist on August 24, 2025. It was a joyful moment for being part of the Redemptorist Family, elections were held to install the first executive committee, consisting of six members:

President: OUÉDRAOGO S. Jean Parfait
Vice-President: NACOULMA Wendlarima Carine Elodie Secretary: DIANDA Jessica Pascaline
Financial Secretary: DIANDA Pengdwende Laëtitia
Organizational Secretary: WEDRAOGO Boawend-Manegre Cécilia Carole Prayer Coordinator: KABORE Olivier
Sponsor: TAPSOBA/SAWADOGO Soutongo Adeline Marie Léocadie
Chaplain: Father Sylvain TARPILGA

Congratulations and good luck to them during their three-year term. Delighted to also experience three days of closeness with the Redemptorists of the Maison Saint Jean Neumann, the 15 camp participants left with the mission of sowing hope in their communities.

These three days of togetherness and fellowship created a strong bond in our hearts and it was a time of grace and hope for all of us.

Fr. Sylvain TARPILGA, CSsR.
