DR Congo: The Kimpese School Emergency Programme in Action

After a devastating storm damaged classrooms and community spaces, Ngemba 2 Primary School in the Democratic Republic of Congo faced immense challenges. Thanks to the Kimpese School Emergency Programme, supported by Misean Cara and the Redemptorist Solidarity Office, four classrooms and a cultural hall have now been successfully renovated.

In the video below, students, teachers, and parish leaders share their heartfelt gratitude — because today, over 1,300 children can once again learn in safe and dignified spaces.

However, the work is not yet complete. The school’s latrines remain broken, posing serious risks to the children’s health and safety. Restoring them is vital, because safe sanitation means health, dignity, and a future.

Together, we can continue turning crisis into resilience.
