DRC: Building Long-Term Healthcare Capacity Through Practical Training

In June 2025, 22 health professionals — including doctors, nurses and midwives — completed an intensive training programme in emergency obstetric and neonatal care. The training combined classroom instruction with real-time clinical practice in the newly equipped wards.

Key competencies strengthened:

  • Infection prevention
  • Neonatal resuscitation
  • Emergency response during complicated births
  • Post-partum management

By training local staff on-site, knowledge stays in the community and strengthens healthcare delivery long term.

Help empower healthcare professionals. Your support builds skills that stay in the community.
