Response to Cyclone Gamane, Madagascar
Following the devastation caused by Tropical Cyclone Gamane on 26 March 2024, the Redemptorist Solidarity Office (RSO) successfully completed an emergency humanitarian response in northeastern Madagascar, in keeping with its mission to stand in solidarity with the poorest and most vulnerable communities during times of crisis.


Response to Storm disaster at Berejama Mission School, Zimbabwe
Late 2024, storms severely damaged Berejena Mission School in Chinhoyi, Zimbabwe, destroying classrooms, teachers’ houses, and key facilities. The Redemptorist Solidarity Office led an emergency project restoring classrooms, teachers’ cottages, and storage, enabling full school operations and benefiting 1,450 students and staff while strengthening community resilience to climate-related disasters.
Response Kintombo (Tropical storms) at Kimpese school, DRC
In March 2025, a severe storm hit Kimpese, Democratic Republic of Congo, damaging Ngemba 2 Primary School. The Redemptorist Solidarity Office, with local partners, rebuilt four classrooms and the cultural hall, restoring safe learning for 1,300+ students and 29 staff while strengthening school protection and community resilience.


Response to Cyclone Jude, Madagascar
In March 2025, Cyclone Jude hit Mahazoarivo, Madagascar, severely damaging Saint Jean-Paul II Primary School. The Redemptorist Solidarity Office and local partners rehabilitated classrooms and installed a cyclone-resilient roof, restoring safe learning for over 250 students and strengthening education, protection, and community resilience after the disaster.
