Redemptorist Mission in Lomé: National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help
The Redemptorist Community in the Archdiocese of Lomé is a joint mission of the Vice-Provinces of Nigeria and West Africa, inspired by the 25th General Chapter’s call to restructuring. The mission seeks to establish a National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in Démé, on land donated by the Confraternity of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, present in Lomé for over 70 years.
The mission began in September 2023 with four pioneer confreres from Burkina Faso, Nigeria, and Togo. Its goals include acquiring and developing the land, building a large chapel for 2,000 faithful, community residences, pilgrim facilities, and Marian devotional spaces. The confreres also assist the nearby Noepe parish and accompany the Confraternity.
