The Redemptorist Solidarity Office for Africa and Madagascar has received an uplifting profile document announcing a series of events to celebrate the silver jubilee of the Vice-Province of Nigeria. The story on the Redemptorists in Nigeria is one of graces and achievement. Fr. Vincent Ezezue is Chairperson of the planning committee for the forthcoming Silver Jubilee.
The Redemptorists are delighted to confirm the commencement of a new mission outreach initiative in Furancungo, District of Macanga, in the Diocese of Tete in Mozambique.
The Redemptorists commenced their missionary endeavours in Ghana in 1994 with the arrival of Redemptorists from Colombia. The mission in Ghana has faced many difficulties and challenges and setbacks. There are hopes now that the mission is entering a new phase of its history with the wonderful news centred on the first ordinations for the Redemptorist in Ghana.
On July 23rd, five Redemptorist Bursar’s from Nigeria, South Africa and Zimbabwe, Ghana and Zimbabwe commenced an important training course in Nairobi, Kenya. The course is a month long course in Financial Management and is being held at the Corat Institute in Nairobi, Kenya. Corat is the Christian Organisation Research and Advisory Trust of Africa. The organisation exists to provide effective leadership and management to churches and church related organisations in Africa through training, facilitating, consulting, research and development.
July 21st 2012 will remain a red-letter day for the Province of South Africa. In addition to the ordination of Julius Maisiti in Lusaka we celebrated the first Profession of Dominic Ampomah in Howick KwaZulu-Natal.
